leading at ambassador day

So yesterday was our Ambassador Day and Information Evening.  Its our annual event where we invite prospective applicants to come on campus and meet the students, attend a class, tour the campus and ask questions to panels of alumni and current students.  I attended this event last year and it was a great way to quickly find out an enormous amount about the program in one day.

As I wrote before, I was the student chair of the committee planning this day and was working with my team to put together an interesting day to convince everyone to apply right away!

Being able to lead the event was a great learning experience for me.  In the past I have shied away from leading the planning of events like these.  It was just not something I was ever good at or ever wanted to do.  Being in school, however, these are exactly the things I want to force myself to do.   Its not only a risk-free environment, but you have the huge advantage of being able to lean on all of your LGO classmates - who all happen to be amazing.

Much of the days success was thanks to my classmates - volunteering to lead tours, sit on panels, mingle at lunch, take people to classes and meet with them one on one after the sessions.  I can’t even begin to tell you how strong the LGO community is, you will just have to take my word and apply to find out for yourself.

After developing my delegation skills, I had enough time for a celebratory picture:
